DJ Bowers

About

I'm DJ Bowers, a software engineer in Nashville building tools I actually want to use — and hoping others will too.

My path started in electrical engineering — hardware internships, field service in power and energy. I kept the hardware appreciation but moved to software, where I gravitated toward frontend. Not for the code, but for the interaction: building things people actually use. That's what drew me to human-computer interaction, and to the Georgia Tech OMSCS.

Kettlebells became my thing when gyms closed during the pandemic. What kept me hooked was discovering how they correct imbalances rather than create them. I'm building Bellskill so complete beginners can pick up a kettlebell and progress safely without needing a coach.

Off the bench: I play bass, guitar, and sing, mess around with production on a Maschine Mikro, and listen to everything from metal to house. I cook. And I'm a husband and new father, deep in renovating a multi-generational home with my wife and mother-in-law.
